In February, the Phoenix Art Museum will host a variety of events and exhibitions. A special Valentine's Day Date Night is scheduled for February 14 from 6 to 8 pm, featuring wine tasting, live jazz music, photo booths, and a Valentine's Day lounge. Earlier in the month, on February 5 at 6 pm, the museum will present the Spring Lenhardt Lecture with artist Charles Gaines and Thelma Golden from the Studio Museum in Harlem. The lecture will be followed by a performance of Gaines' "Manifestos 3 (2018)" by pianist Richard Valitutto and video operator Mads Falcone.

The museum recently opened Carlos Amorales' installation "Black Cloud" to the public. Additionally, a photography exhibition titled "Widening the Lens: Photography, Ecology, and the Contemporary Landscape" will open on February 26. This exhibition focuses on environmental issues through nearly 65 works by various artists.

Free-access programs include Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesdays supported by SRP and City of Phoenix. These sessions offer voluntary-donation general admission with $10 off memberships when purchased on-site. Special-exhibition tickets are priced at $7 for adults and $5 for youth under 17.

Maricopa County Community College students receive free general admission to PhxArt thanks to sponsorship from Men's Arts Council. Active-duty U.S. military personnel and veterans also enjoy discounted admission throughout the year.

On February 7 from 5 to 8 pm, First Friday will celebrate Black History Month with various activities including music by DJ J-M Lee, sketching sessions with Aileen Martinez, a portrait workshop inspired by Charles Gaines led by Bryan Beckon, performances of "Manifestos 3," installations by Black River Life's Artist Collective and Ashley LaRae Sampson with Cierra Holston.

The Family Studio workshop on February 22 offers hands-on art-making activities inspired by Dutch painting techniques for children aged eight and up alongside their caregivers. Other events include Create Playdate sessions every Saturday in February for young visitors.

The Phoenix Art Museum has been engaging visitors since its establishment in 1959 with diverse collections and exhibitions that attract an average of 300,000 guests annually.
