The Arizona Cardinals have secured outside linebacker Baron Browning with a new two-year contract, ensuring he remains with the team before entering free agency. The deal, agreed upon on Sunday, is reportedly valued at $15 million and includes incentives that could increase its worth.

Browning joined the Cardinals in 2024 through a trade with the Denver Broncos. In his eight games with Arizona, he recorded two sacks, three quarterback hits, and four tackles for loss. His performance made him a priority for re-signing as the team believes his skills align well with their defensive strategy.

Throughout his four NFL seasons, Browning has achieved 11.5 sacks. The Cardinals acquired him in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick from Denver. His presence strengthens Arizona's defense as they prepare for upcoming challenges.

Browning was among five outside linebackers on last year's roster approaching free agency. Julian Okwara, Dennis Gardeck, Victor Dimukeje, and Jesse Luketa are also set to enter the market when it officially opens Wednesday after negotiations begin Monday.

Additionally, BJ Ojulari is expected to return after missing the entire 2024 season due to an ACL injury. The Cardinals plan to enhance their EDGE group by exploring options in both free agency and the draft.
