The NFL Scouting Combine has concluded, and the focus now shifts to mock drafts as players begin visiting team facilities. The Arizona Cardinals, after finishing the 2024 season with an 8-9 record, hold the 16th pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. This marks a change from last year when they had the fourth pick.

This is the first of six mock draft versions that will feature expert opinions on potential picks for the Cardinals at their current position.

One player frequently mentioned is EDGE Mike Green from Marshall. Known for his speed and strength, Green led the FBS with 17 sacks in 2024. Kyle Crabbs from The 33rd Team said, "No one in this class may have a better first step than Green." Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network added, "He's a freak athlete whose explosiveness helped him dominate."

Another prospect is Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker, noted for his versatility. Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports remarked, "Jalon Walker is listed as an off-ball linebacker but can line up anywhere ... and wreak havoc." Nate Tice and Charles McDonald from Yahoo Sports described him as "a dynamic player who doesn't have a perfect fit."

Michigan's Kenneth Grant is another name associated with the Cardinals. At 6-foot-4 and 331 pounds, he is known for his ability to stop rushing attacks. Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News commented on Grant's potential impact: "The Cardinals need to get defensive-minded Jonathan Gannon a linchpin for the interior." Daniel Jeremiah from NFL Network noted Grant's upside as a pass rusher.

Walter Nolen from Ole Miss brings confidence to his game, comparing himself to Aaron Donald. Tyler Dragon of USA Today highlighted Nolen's athleticism: "Nolen's athleticism and explosiveness make him an intriguing three-technique defensive tackle." Bucky Brooks of NFL.com called him "a high-energy playmaker."

Georgia's Mykel Williams was initially expected to be picked early but remains a strong candidate due to his physical traits. Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA Today stated that Williams should reinforce his potential during testing.

Finally, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson has been projected by some experts to join the Cardinals despite being ranked highly among cornerbacks in this draft class. Trevor Sikkema from Pro Football Focus described Johnson's skills: "He might not have the recovery speed to dominate in man coverage, but he has great instincts."

Other players linked with the Cardinals include EDGE James Pearce Jr., EDGE Shemar Stewart, DL Derrick Harmon, and WR Luther Burden III.
