Grand Canyon University secured the 2025 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship in a close contest at The Podium in Spokane, Washington. This victory marks their eighth men's indoor championship win in nine attempts.

The competition concluded with a tense final event where GCU held a narrow nine-point lead on the men's team leaderboard. A false start by GCU's favored 4x400 relay team put them at risk, requiring second-place Utah Valley to not win the event. Ultimately, UT Arlington's relay team won, securing the overall team title for GCU.

GCU athletes claimed individual championships in four men's events: Casey Tow set a school record in the heptathlon with 5,576 points; Justin Raines won both the 60 meters with a time of 6.64 and set a school record of 6.58 in prelims, as well as the 200 meters with a time of 20.68; Prosper Ekporere took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.79.

Raines' performances contributed significantly to GCU's point tally alongside other strong finishes by his teammates in both races. In the 60 meters, Erin Brown, Miguel Rosario III, JoJo Harding, and Jacob Holguin followed Raines from third to sixth places respectively. In the 200 meters, Brown finished second, Rosario third, Harding sixth and Conner Kittleson eighth. These results added up to substantial point gains for GCU.

In addition to their success on track events like these, GCU also scored heavily with contributions from Cam Wilmington, Joshua Gittens and Ben Stratman who placed second through fourth in the 400-meter run garnering another twenty points for their team.

On women's side competitions held concurrently during this championship weekend were equally impressive as they too achieved victories across four different events: Camdyn Bruner topped pentathlon standings scoring an impressive total of over three thousand nine hundred five; Lucy George excelled within shot put achieving thirteen point eighty-eight meter throw distance while Taryn Burkett made history setting new triple jump records reaching heights exceeding thirteen thirty-four meters; finally relay quartet composed Aaliyah Rifort-Delem along partners Alyssa Blockburger Macie Evans Taliyah Booker collectively crossed finish line clocked remarkable time three forty eighty-four which stood testament breaking existing school benchmarks yet again securing bronze overall placement just behind Utah Valley Tarleton State squads respectively when considering aggregate tallies spanning entire series heats runs performed during course weekend’s numerous staged contests involved
