Grand Canyon University began its 2025 outdoor track and field season at the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta in Tucson. The team sent approximately 50 athletes, with less than ten having competed in the recent WAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

In the pole vault event, sophomore Regan Parnell achieved a personal best by clearing 3.96 meters. This performance would have ranked second in last year's WAC standings. Senior Grant Hagaman cleared 5.08 meters, slightly below his personal best of 5.25 meters, but still a competitive mark that would have placed him in the top six of last year's WAC outdoor rankings.

Junior Jacob Nash excelled in the javelin throw, setting a personal record with a distance of 64.87 meters, which would have been fourth on last season's WAC performance list.

The meet served as an opportunity for the athletes to adjust to outdoor conditions and gain experience for the rest of the season. Grand Canyon University will not compete next weekend outdoors but will focus on senior sprinter Justin Raines' participation in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday.
