Banner Health, in partnership with UDLR Healthcare, marked the grand re-opening of the Thunderbird Medical Pavilion at the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center campus in Glendale, Arizona.
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers, along with executives from Banner Health and UDLR, participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was part of the event organized by JLL, the leasing brokers for the property. According to Debbie Flores, CEO of Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, "This redevelopment reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare in a modern and comfortable setting.”
UDLR Healthcare, a joint venture between GI Partners and former Healthcare Trust of America executives, made its first investment in Thunderbird Medical Pavilion after acquiring it in December 2023. Renovations have enhanced exterior buildings, upgraded common areas, and improved landscaping, among other features. Robert Milligan, CEO of UDLR, noted that the renovation aligns with Banner's mission in serving the Phoenix’s West Valley. He added, "Our grand re-opening is a benchmark in that effort, bringing an on-campus, state-of-the-art outpatient setting."
The pavilion now accommodates new tenants offering podiatry services, lab services, and behavioral health provisions. Mayor Jerry Weiers remarked on the economic impact, noting the campus employs over 2,750 people, contributing to the local economy and city growth.
The project was a collaborative effort with SmithGroup, Tepcon Construction, Okland Construction, and AK-SAR-BEN Companies, supported by financing from BMO Bank N.A. Katie McIntyre and Mari Lederman manage leasing for the facility. As part of the event, UDLR also donated $25,000 to the Banner Foundation.
