The annual NFL spring meeting this week has gathered team owners, general managers, and coaches at The Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Florida. Among the attendees was Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, who sees value in these meetings for the exchange of ideas. During the NFC coaches breakfast, Gannon remarked, "It opens up your mind to think differently and think critically about things."

Gannon addressed several topics during a 30-minute session, including personnel decisions and player roles. He discussed the addition of outside linebacker Josh Sweat and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, stating, "All about ball, team-first guys and a lot of production." He emphasized Tomlinson's leadership and experience as beneficial to the team, saying, "He is very smart and he'll help the younger guys grow as players."

On veteran receiver Zay Jones, who had limited impact last season, Gannon expressed optimism, stating, "We can expand his role too. He's a smart guy, he's team-first, he's productive."

Gannon also touched on upcoming changes for inside linebackers, noting new additions Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykal Walker. He emphasized the importance of versatility and intelligence, stating, "Both those guys are versatile pieces that are both very smart."

Baron Browning, acquired via a sixth-round pick trade last season and re-signed by the Cardinals, is expected to contribute significantly as an outside linebacker. Gannon described the acquisition as "awesome" and said, "We're excited about him as a player."

Lastly, Gannon highlighted the significance of Body Mass Index (BMI) for player performance and injury reduction. He remarked, "There is a range I think each position should be in," noting the importance of maintaining physical standards.
