GLENDALE, Ariz – Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, currently engaged in the construction of a new women and infant services tower, has collaborated with Cactus High School and several construction companies to enhance the school's educational infrastructure. The project involved a campus pond at Cactus High School, aimed to serve as a learning environment for students focused on ecosystem studies.

The hospital partnered with MBJ Engineering, Okland Construction, WSP Engineering, Devenney Group, Cannon & Wendt Electric, and WD Manor Mechanical for this community service initiative. High school seniors at Cactus, participating as a senior gift, coordinated with volunteers to transform the pond into a significant educational resource.

This revitalization project was made possible with the help of a grant from Arizona Game and Fish, intended to support wildlife education within Arizona classrooms, and the involvement of School Connect, a non-profit focused on bridging businesses and schools.

Pradeep Dugar, project executive for Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, stated, "At Banner Health, we recognize the power of collaboration and the positive impact it can have on our communities. We are proud to partner with all the construction and design firms working on the future women and infant services tower and Peoria Unified School District to make a lasting difference at the revitalization of the campus pond at Cactus High School."

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is a part of Banner Health, a nonprofit health system, known for its extensive services, including heart care, pediatrics, and trauma care. Peoria Unified School District, comprising 43 schools, educates over 35,000 students, emphasizing values like safety, community connection, and student success.

Okland Construction, with a century-long history of building across various regions, also played a significant role. Known for its legacy of integrity and innovation, the company stresses collaboration with clients, architects, and engineers.
