The Arizona Cardinals have made a move to retain wide receiver Greg Dortch by tendering him at the right of first refusal level. This decision was announced just before the new league year began on Wednesday. If Dortch signs the one-year tender, he will earn a $3.3 million salary for the upcoming season. However, until he signs, Dortch is free to explore other offers from teams around the league. The Cardinals retain the right to match any offer sheet Dortch might sign with another team.
Should Dortch agree to terms with another team and the Cardinals choose not to match, they would not receive any compensation in return. It's important to note that while the tender offer is not guaranteed, signing it does not ensure Dortch a roster spot for 2025.
Head Coach Jonathan Gannon has expressed his appreciation for Dortch's character and contributions to the team. Over four seasons with the Cardinals, Dortch has played in 54 games, recording 116 receptions for 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns. In the last season alone, he caught 37 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns across all 17 games.
