Banner Olive Branch Senior Center in Sun City, Arizona, has been awarded a $6,000 grant from Sonora Quest Laboratories. This funding is part of Sonora Quest's Employee Impact Program, which aims to create social value in the communities where its employees live and work. The program allows team members to nominate nonprofits for one-time charitable contributions.
Jennifer Lawless, director of Banner Olive Branch, expressed gratitude for the donation: “We are so grateful to Sonora Quest Laboratories for this generous donation and are thrilled to see its effect.” She noted that the funds would enable the center to increase its community impact by providing more services to those in need.
Banner Olive Branch offers various services such as a food pantry, meal delivery programs, daily meals cooked onsite, social activities, health screenings, and legal assistance. Regina Sheets, a lab support specialist who nominated Banner Olive Branch for the award, praised the center's impact: “The impact Banner Olive Branch provides to our community in support, nourishment, and purpose is humbling and vital.”
Sonora Quest CEO Dave Dexter highlighted the importance of employee involvement: “While we have always been an organization that gives back, we wanted to strengthen our levels of engagement by involving employees in decision-making while supporting causes close to their hearts.”
Since 1988, Banner Olive Branch Senior Center has served Sun Cities and surrounding areas with social and educational programs alongside support services. Sonora Quest Laboratories is an Arizona-based joint venture between Banner Health and Quest Diagnostics offering extensive diagnostic testing services across numerous patient service centers.
