Abrazo Scottsdale Campus has been recognized as a Center of Excellence in bariatric surgery by OptumHealth Care Solutions. This designation is awarded to hospitals that meet criteria for clinical quality, cost efficiency, and comprehensive access to bariatric services.

Nohemi Abrago, a 49-year-old Food Service Manager at Abrazo Scottsdale, shared her personal experience with weight loss surgery. After struggling with her weight following childbirth and medical procedures, she decided to undergo gastric bypass surgery at the facility where she worked. "It was two hours before my niece’s quinceañera, and I couldn’t find a dress to wear that fit me," Abrago said. She ultimately decided to pursue surgery after observing the success of other patients at Abrazo Scottsdale.

Dr. Daniel Fang MD, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Medical Director at Abrazo Scottsdale Campus, emphasized the importance of patient commitment in achieving successful outcomes from bariatric surgery.
