On April 9, 2025, the University of Phoenix announced that Vice Provost Doris Savron received an Outstanding Women in Business Award from the Phoenix Business Journal. Among 25 executives chosen from over 280 nominees, Savron stood out for her contributions in the educational sector.
The awards ceremony took place on March 25 at Chateau Luxe in north Phoenix and marked the 25th annual Outstanding Women in Business event. More than 300 people attended, including honorees and their guests.
“It is a true honor to be recognized among such a distinguished group of businesswomen in Arizona," said Savron. "This award highlights the impactful contributions of female leaders in our community. It inspires me to continue leading with purpose and passion at the University of Phoenix, where we are dedicated to providing an exceptional education to our adult learners.”
The Phoenix Business Journal noted that 33.5% of top executive roles in Arizona are held by women, a figure higher than the national average of 31.7% across industries. Moreover, according to Business Insider, Arizona ranks as the seventh state with the most women CEOs, at 40.53%.
“The Phoenix Business Journal is proud to recognize Doris Savron as one of this year’s Outstanding Women in Business,” remarked Ray Schey, Market President and Publisher. Every year, past honorees judge nearly 200 nominations to select just 25 outstanding women.
