According to the American Cancer Society, cancer accounts for 20% of all deaths in the Hispanic community. This statistic highlights the urgent need to increase awareness and prevention efforts to combat this disease within the Hispanic population.

The most common types of cancer affecting Hispanics include lung, colorectal, breast, and prostate cancers. It is crucial for individuals and communities to understand the risk factors associated with these cancers and take preventive measures to reduce these risks.

Dr. Christina Gomez, an oncologist at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, emphasizes the importance of early detection to improve cancer treatment outcomes.
