Blake Gillikin was mentioned in an article predicting under-the-radar players who could become first-time All-Pros this season. However, his name was mistakenly listed as "Andrew" Gillikin.

"I don't know any Andrews in my family," Gillikin remarked, chuckling.

Gillikin set a franchise record with a 50.6-yard average on 51 punts and a 42.9-yard net average after being signed for the final 13 games of the season. He expressed a strong desire to return after his contract ended, which materialized when the Cardinals re-signed him to a two-year deal.

Initially believing he would continue with the Saints after two solid seasons, Gillikin was unexpectedly cut in favor of undrafted rookie Lou Hedley.

"I thought about it for a while and eventually just had to kind of let it go," he said. "There are places that you fit and places that you don't."

Gillikin has found his place with the Cardinals, developing a crucial relationship with kicker Matt Prater as a holder, despite some initial challenges replacing Nolan Cooney last season. Coach Jonathan Gannon described him as a "cool cat."

"We vibe," Gannon said.

Special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers also supports Gillikin, noting that he punted better last year than ever before.

Gillikin's primary goal is to help the team win in any way possible, even if it means punting the ball 30 yards out of bounds upon request.

"You have individual goals, but my first job is to help the team win in any way I can," he stated. "I have those high aspirations because that's what pushed me to be the best version of myself. Whether it is under the radar or not, hopefully that's kind of where I am at the end of the year."
