Arizona Cardinals' general manager Monti Ossenfort is preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft with only six selections this year, a significant reduction from the 12 picks the team had in 2024. This marks the fewest picks since Ossenfort took the helm in 2023. Their first selection is at No. 16. The Cardinals have addressed some needs in free agency, yet the identity instilled by head coach Jonathan Gannon and Ossenfort reflects a prioritization of drafting and developing talent.

The team currently has several running backs under contract, including James Conner, who extended his contract to remain with the team through 2026. Young players like Trey Benson and Emari Demercado continue to develop under his mentorship. Depth became a challenge towards the season's end due to injuries, granting more opportunities for players like DeeJay Dallas and Michael Carter, who remain under contract for the upcoming season.

Ashton Jeanty, a Boise State standout and Heisman Trophy runner-up, is anticipated to be a first-round pick, potentially going as high as No. 5. Meanwhile, Arizona State's Cam Skattebo, who gained attention by helping his team reach the College Football Playoffs, is projected as a late Day Two or early Day Three selection. The Cardinals have reportedly shown interest in Skattebo, but drafting him is not their priority. Benson, a third-round pick, is seen as having potential for growth, and Gannon is confident in the current roster.

The upcoming Draft presents various prospects, and it remains to be seen how the Cardinals will navigate their picks with an eye on both immediate and future development.
