The Phoenix Mercury have announced the signing of four players to training camp contracts. The new additions are guard Lexi Held, guard Anna Makurat, center Murjanatu Musa, and forward Kathryn Westbeld.
Lexi Held, a 5-foot-10 guard, is currently playing in Hungary with PEAC-Pécs, where she averages 16.1 points per game. She previously played at DePaul University, leading her team to three BIG EAST championships and earning spots on the All-BIG EAST First and Second Teams.
Anna Makurat is a 6-foot-2 guard from Poland who plays for Italian club San Giovanii. She averages 11.7 points per game and had two seasons at UConn, where she averaged 6.5 points per game with the Huskies.
Murjanatu Musa is a 6-foot-2 center from Nigeria competing in France with Tarbes Gespe Bigorre. She averages 14.1 points per game and has participated in two Olympic Games with Nigeria.
Kathryn Westbeld is a 6-foot-4 forward playing for Szekszárd in Hungary, averaging 18.7 points per game. At Notre Dame, she was part of the team that won the NCAA Championship in 2018.
The Mercury's regular season will begin on May 17 against the Seattle Storm at home.
