Senator Ruben Gallego, representing Arizona’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, has expressed his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Gallego, who succeeded Ed Pastor and previously served in the Arizona House of Representatives, was born in Chicago and holds a degree from Harvard University.
On March 4, 2025, Senator Gallego tweeted about attending President Trump's address with a guest named Kyle. He highlighted the impact of budget cuts on veterans by stating: "Proud to have Kyle with me tonight at Trump’s address. He knows what DOGE’s cuts mean for our vets."
In another tweet on the same day, Gallego criticized President Trump's policies regarding veterans and tax cuts. He remarked: "Trump is laying off veterans like my guest tonight, so he can give tax cuts to billionaires like Elon Musk. It’s insulting."
Later that evening, Gallego addressed immigration issues in a tweet dated March 5, 2025. He acknowledged the reduction in illegal border crossings but emphasized the need for comprehensive plans: "Lower illegal border crossing are a success. But we need an affordable long term plan. And we need a plan for people who want a path to citizenship."
