Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is set to host an event on February 14, celebrating Arizona's 113th year of statehood. The event, named "Arizona Rocks!", will take place in Terminal 3 and feature a range of activities inspired by the state's geology and natural beauty.

Attendees can expect to see artwork from the Phoenix Airport Museum exhibition, "Geometry of Geology", which includes landscape paintings by local artist Merrill Mahaffey. Mahaffey will be present to discuss his work. Additionally, visitors can view rock samples from across Arizona and engage with a geologist to learn more about these formations.

The event also offers interactive activities such as painting rocks as keepsakes and coloring sheets filled with facts about Arizona for passengers to enjoy during their flights. These activities are free of charge.

"Known as America’s Friendliest Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport serves as a gateway to the beauty and culture of Arizona," states the press release. The airport emphasizes its commitment to enhancing passenger experiences through local art, history, and community engagement.

For those interested in attending or learning more about the event or the airport itself, further information is available at skyharbor.com.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has an annual economic impact exceeding $44 billion and accommodates approximately 1,000 aircraft and over 130,000 passengers daily. It operates solely on airport revenue without relying on tax dollars.
