On January 21, 2025, Ruben Gallego announced a meeting with White Mountain Apache Tribal leaders focused on securing their water rights. He emphasized the importance of including all communities in efforts to ensure Arizona’s water future. "Today, I met with White Mountain Apache Tribal leaders to discuss ongoing efforts to protect and secure their water rights."

Later that day, Gallego expressed concern over an executive order affecting Arizona's economy. According to him, the order resulted in significant project cancellations and job losses across the state. He criticized this approach as ineffective for reducing costs. "Billions of dollars in projects and thousands of jobs in Arizona were just slashed with an executive order."

On January 22, 2025, Gallego reiterated his commitment to engaging with various communities during his campaign. He encouraged followers to track his progress through different platforms such as Bluesky and Truth Social. "On the campaign I said I’d go anywhere and talk to anyone."
