Monday marked the beginning of the offseason for the Arizona Cardinals as players cleaned out their lockers, reminiscent of a school year's end. Jerseys were signed like yearbooks, and trash bags filled as players prepared to leave.

For Kelvin Beachum, left tackle, this routine is familiar after completing his 13th NFL season. "This is the National Football League, it's just what it is," Beachum commented. He is among those facing free agency and will discuss future prospects soon. Despite uncertainties, Beachum expressed his love for the game and has support from his wife to continue playing.

Defensive lineman Dante Stills, now in his second season, reflected on how such days impacted him as a rookie. "I'm not going to lie, last year, it kind of shocked me," he admitted. Stills hopes many teammates will remain with the team.

Unlike students eager for summer break, Cardinals players wished they could have extended their season by winning more games. However, they are keen to make the most of their offseason training.

Coach Jonathan Gannon met with players individually to discuss improvements needed for next season. While everyone will take a break, Gannon emphasized that preparations for 2025 have already started. "What matters to me is how we're going to improve because we have to win more games than we did this year," he stated.

Gannon encouraged the team to focus on personal accountability rather than external narratives about their performance: "We'll take that on the chin and improve from it."
