Christian Jones made his first start for the Cardinals in their game against the 49ers, playing all 65 offensive snaps. Jones, who had been inactive for most of the season, stepped in after Jackson Barton injured his ankle. "It was a great opportunity," Jones said. He faced Pro Bowler Nick Bosa during the game and reflected on the experience: "I was giving my best shot every single rep."
Rookie lineman Isaiah Adams also played all 65 offensive snaps alongside Jones. Bosa participated in 24 snaps before sitting out the rest of the game.
Jones's future role remains uncertain as Paris Johnson Jr. is set to be left tackle next season, with veteran Jonah Williams expected to return healthy for right tackle duties. Kelvin Beachum, a top swing tackle, is a free agent but expressed interest in continuing his career.
Jones acknowledged areas for improvement: "I've got to get my technique down." He noted that professional football requires more than just athleticism compared to college level.
In addition to Jones and Adams, tight end Trey McBride took part in 58 plays before being subbed out, while Elijah Higgins and Tip Reiman were involved in 31 and 29 plays respectively. Michael Carter led running backs with 31 snaps; DeeJay Dallas had ten. Among receivers, Marvin Harrison Jr. led with 48 snaps due to Michael Wilson's absence.
Defensively, Budda Baker, Kyzir White, and Jalen Thompson each played all 73 defensive snaps. Max Melton exited early due to a wrist injury after playing only twelve snaps; Sean Murphy-Bunting played thirty before being ejected from the game.
