As Trey McBride sprinted near the Cardinals sideline, he encountered 49ers safety Ji'Ayir Brown. Expecting Brown to go low, McBride prepared to leap over him. However, Brown did not follow the expected pattern, leading McBride to a sudden realization mid-air.

"I was in the air, and I was like 'Uh oh, this is not good,'" McBride said after the Cardinals' victory over San Francisco, 47-24. Despite the unexpected challenge, McBride managed to stay on his feet and secure a first down. "I was just surprised more than anything," he added.

McBride acknowledged that his trademark hurdles might become less frequent in future games. "I really need to stop," he admitted. "I'm tired of it and obviously they're catching on to it as well, so I don't know if I plan on hurdling."

Beyond this viral play, McBride's performance stood out as he led the Cardinals with seven receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown. This marked his second consecutive week scoring after a 16-week drought.

Scoring his first touchdown last weekend brought relief for the first-time Pro Bowler. Doing so against the 49ers at home added significance. "It was exactly what we were looking for," McBride noted about a key play involving quarterback Kyler Murray.

Sunday's game held historical significance for McBride as he surpassed George Kittle of the 49ers for most receptions by a tight end in their first three seasons, finishing with 221 receptions. Additionally, his 111 receptions rank second in franchise history.

McBride expressed honor at surpassing Larry Fitzgerald's record while Fitzgerald watched from the stands. "Just to be in the same conversation as him or to break any of the records that he has is a huge honor to me," McBride said.

While reflecting on these achievements, McBride plans to appreciate them during the offseason. His quarterback Kyler Murray remains one of his strongest supporters: "I'll say it every time," Murray stated. "I think he's the best in the league and I think he'll continue to get better as we get better together."

The connection between Murray and McBride has been a highlight throughout the season, with McBride consistently leading as receiver since their bye week. As they look ahead, both player and team aim for further success.

"I'd like to make the playoffs," McBride said regarding future goals. "That's the most important goal. I'm proud of the way that this team finished this season."
