The Arizona Cardinals are facing challenges with their tackle positions as they approach the final two games of the season. Left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. is sidelined due to a knee injury, and right tackle Jonah Williams also suffered a knee injury recently. With the team out of playoff contention, they are opting for caution in handling these injuries.
Kelvin Beachum stepped in for Paris Johnson Jr. during Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, playing all 70 offensive snaps. Jackson Barton, called up from the practice squad for his last eligible game this season, took over at right tackle after Williams' injury, playing 30 snaps.
In wide receiver playtime, Marvin Harrison Jr. was on the field for 57 snaps, while Michael Wilson led with 63 snaps. Zay Jones participated in 27 plays and Greg Dortch in 21.
Running back James Conner's day ended early due to a knee injury after contributing significantly with 31 snaps and accumulating 166 total yards. Michael Carter filled in with 25 snaps from the practice squad, and DeeJay Dallas played a season-high of 16 offensive snaps, scoring a receiving touchdown.
At tight end, Trey McBride had substantial playtime with 65 snaps. Tip Reiman followed with 26 and Elijah Higgins had 19.
On defense, safeties Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson along with inside linebacker Kyzir White were part of the group that played every snap (68). Cornerbacks Sean Murphy-Bunting (62), Starling Thomas V (52), Garrett Williams (42), Max Melton (22), and safety Rabbit Taylor-Demerson (10) rounded out secondary participation.
With Mack Wilson Sr.'s absence, Owen Pappoe saw increased action at inside linebacker with 25 snaps while Krys Barnes contributed with 12. At outside linebacker, Zaven Collins topped playtime charts with 51 snaps followed by Julian Okwara (31), Baron Browning who left early due to a neck injury (29), Victor Dimukeje (22), and Xavier Thomas (9).
L.J. Collier led defensive line efforts with 39 plays alongside Dante Stills (34), Darius Robinson who achieved a career-high of 33 plays, Roy Lopez (28), Naquan Jones (22), and Khyiris Tonga (20).
