Phoenix Art Museum is preparing to host a series of events and exhibitions starting in January. The museum's First Friday on January 3 will feature DJ J-M Lee, art programming, and food and drink experiences. Additionally, PhxArt Amplified Vol. 4 will return as an all-day art and music festival on January 25, headlined by the band Daniel, Me Estás Matando.

Carlos Amorales' "Black Cloud" installation will open next month. Due to its popularity, Larry Bell's "Improvisations" exhibition has been extended until January 19. The museum also offers Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesdays from 3 to 8 pm, with voluntary-donation general admission supported by SRP and the City of Phoenix.

Maricopa County Community College students can enjoy free general admission thanks to support from Men’s Arts Council. Active-duty U.S. military personnel and veterans receive discounted tickets year-round.

PhxArt Amplified Vol. 4 features artists like Daniel, Me Estás Matando, Valgur, Phoenix Symphony, among others. Visual artists include Amanda Mollindo and Milan Bobinac. Performance artists include Jose Villalobos.

The museum also offers special programs such as Create Playdate for children every Saturday in January and the Dutch Art Expanded lecture on January 30 featuring Arizona-based artists Rachel Bess and Alanna Airitam.

Upcoming exhibitions include Carlos Amorales' "Black Cloud," opening on January 17; Richard Avedon's "Among Creatives," open through May; Keith Haring's collection running until July; and ongoing Dutch Art Expanded installations.

Larry Bell's "Improvisations" is closing soon on January 19, showcasing glass sculptures from the Light and Space movement.
