Is it possible for a receiver to consistently make spectacular catches? Michael Wilson's recent performances suggest it might be. Wilson has been making impressive plays, including a notable over-the-head catch in Seattle and two highlight-level receptions in Minnesota.
"Every player across all sports, sometimes if you ask them to repeat a play and do it again, I'm not sure I'd be able to do it again," Wilson remarked. "Specifically, like, the Seattle one. I surprised myself on that play."
While Trey McBride has become Kyler Murray's preferred target, the Cardinals' wide receivers have shown variable performance levels. Marvin Harrison Jr., still building chemistry with Murray, faces challenges with separation during plays according to Next Gen Stats.
"You just trust the guy," Murray stated regarding Wilson. "You see him make those plays over and over again."
Wilson recently demonstrated his skill by catching a tipped ball one-handed in Minnesota. He emphasized the importance of confidence in making such catches: "Just like Steph Curry making crazy shots...if your mind and your body works on the confidence of seeing you catch the ball, hard catches become easier."
Darius Robinson debuted as a rookie defensive lineman with 22 snaps under limited conditions but is optimistic about improving after reviewing game footage.
"I think he's going to take a big jump," Coach Gannon said on his show "Cardinals Game Plan." "Handcuffs will be off."
The Cardinals plan to hold a toy drive at their upcoming game against the Seahawks, where cheerleaders and volunteers will collect donations.
Trey McBride was named the Cardinals’ nominee for Walter Payton Man of the Year following another strong performance in Minnesota. McBride needs nine more receptions to break his own franchise record for tight ends.
Center Hjalte Froholdt discussed his unique position as an NFL player from Denmark: "Sports in Denmark is trying to show...what I am doing is something that's never been done before."
If victorious against the Seahawks, Arizona will secure its fourth consecutive home win since 2015.
This season has seen changes in Kyler Murray's playing style; he now averages fewer rush attempts per game post-ACL injury compared to prior seasons.
Defensively, Arizona increased blitzing efforts against Minnesota while maintaining strategic pressure tactics. Safety Budda Baker noted how perceptions of blitzes can vary: "Some pressures might look like pressures, and some things are not."
Despite adjustments throughout this season, Arizona's defense allows an average of 17 points per game at home.
Kyler Murray reflected on close games: "The great teams find a way to win those one-score games...Any given Sunday, they say that for a reason."
