Arizona Cardinals tight end Tip Reiman is looking to move forward after a challenging performance against the Minnesota Vikings. During the Cardinals' penultimate drive, Reiman was flagged for what appeared to be a false start at the Vikings' 5-yard line. However, quarterback Kyler Murray suggested otherwise, saying, "I don't think that was a false start," as replays showed Vikings defensive lineman Jerry Tillery entering the neutral zone before any movement from Reiman.
Reiman acknowledged the difficulty of the situation: "That one was tough," he stated. Despite being unhappy with the call, he recognized that mistakes happen and referees are human too. Reiman was penalized three additional times during the game, including two false starts and a holding penalty that was declined.
Reflecting on his performance, Reiman said he is determined not to let mistakes snowball as they did in college. "Clearly it snowballed to an extent," he admitted but emphasized the importance of continuing to play hard regardless of past errors.
Reiman attributed some of his issues to anticipation and anxiety related to silent counts and expressed gratitude for upcoming home games where noise might be less of a factor. Both Murray and head coach Jonathan Gannon have expressed their support for him. Gannon commented confidently on Reiman's ability to recover: "He'll bounce back and play well. He'll be fine."
Despite recent struggles, Reiman remains a crucial part of the Cardinals' offensive strategy alongside fellow tight ends Higgins and Trey McBride. Acknowledging his place on the team, he said, "As bad as it was, you can find a silver lining that I've earned enough of a spot not to get cut."
