The museum will debut several new exhibitions in December. "Richard Avedon: Among Creatives" opens on December 6 and runs until May 25, 2025. This exhibition showcases over 50 works from the Center for Creative Photography's collection, highlighting Richard Avedon's portraits of artists, actors, writers, and more. Emilia Mickevicius curates this presentation at Phoenix Art Museum.
Another exhibition opening soon is "The Collection: Keith Haring," which begins on December 7 and continues until July 20, 2025. This exhibition celebrates artist Keith Haring's relationship with the museum during the mid-1980s. It includes prints and sculptural work by Haring as well as archival materials documenting his visits to Phoenix.
"The Collection: Dutch Art Expanded" starts on December 18 and features landscape paintings alongside contemporary works by Arizona-based artists Rachel Bess and Alanna Airitam. The exhibition aims to offer fresh perspectives on Dutch Baroque art.
In addition to these new exhibitions, "Guarding the Art: A Frontline Perspective" will close to the public on December 1. This exhibition was initially founded by the Baltimore Museum of Art.
Phoenix Art Museum also offers various programs such as Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesdays supported by SRP and City of Phoenix. Students from Maricopa County Community Colleges can enjoy free general admission with a valid student ID due to support from Men’s Arts Council.
For military personnel, active-duty U.S. military members and veterans receive discounted admission throughout the year upon presenting valid identification.
