Phoenix Art Museum is set to host "Widening the Lens: Photography, Ecology, and the Contemporary Landscape," a photography exhibition organized by Carnegie Museum of Art. This exhibition will be on display from February 26 to June 15, 2025, featuring works by nearly 20 contemporary artists. The show focuses on environmental history and degradation in the American landscape and climate change.

Jeremy Mikolajczak, Sybil Harrington Director and CEO of Phoenix Art Museum, expressed enthusiasm about the exhibition's arrival in Phoenix. "We are excited to bring Widening the Lens to Phoenix in continuation of the Museum’s long history of presenting thought-provoking programming centered on the environment and American landscape to our audiences," he said.

The exhibition includes nearly 65 pieces by 18 artists. It challenges traditional photography notions through thematic sections such as Archive, Remembering, Pathfinding, and Horizon. These themes explore historical narratives, human identity with nature, adaptability in the environment, and future possibilities.

Emilia Mickevicius, Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography at Phoenix Art Museum and Center for Creative Photography, shared her thoughts on the exhibition's significance. "I am delighted to share this powerful and richly layered exhibition with our audiences here in Arizona," she remarked.

Artists featured include A.K. Burns, Chanell Stone, David O. Alekhuogie, among others. The presentation at Phoenix Art Museum is made possible by contributions from various foundations like The William Talbott Hillman Foundation and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Museum admission details are provided for visitors interested in viewing the exhibition during its run.
