Jonah Williams, who sustained a knee injury during the Arizona Cardinals' season opener against the Buffalo Bills, has been activated from Injured Reserve. His return was announced as his window to resume play neared its end.

Williams expressed relief at rejoining his teammates in practice. "It's just nice to feel like I'm part of the team again out there at practice with the guys," he said after Wednesday's session. Reflecting on his rehabilitation period, Williams added, "I was rehabbing for a long time... I just have my hand on the glass, like 'It's got to be nice to be out there.' So it's nice to be out."

In preparation for Williams' return, the Cardinals released offensive lineman Charlie Heck on Monday. However, Heck was brought back onto the practice squad a day later.

Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing noted Williams' seamless transition back into action. "(Jonah) has been very comfortable jumping right back on the field with the guys," Petzing stated. "He's done it at a high level in his career."

Veteran Kelvin Beachum filled in for Williams during his absence, starting eight of nine games. Coach Jonathan Gannon has yet to decide whether Williams will immediately reclaim his starting position. Gannon mentioned that they would "weigh all the variables and decide what is best for the team." He acknowledged Beachum's performance and contribution: "I use his brain a lot."

Petzing praised Beachum's reliability and communication skills: "Being the same player, really not missing a beat with his guys and communicating at a high level." He described Beachum as a "consummate pro" whose consistent effort is evident in games.
