Before the season began, Jonathan Gannon faced numerous inquiries about his pass rush strategy for the Cardinals. Concerns grew when BJ Ojulari and Darius Robinson sustained injuries, and persisted even after acquiring veteran Baron Browning.

Despite these challenges, the Cardinals' defense has exceeded expectations during their four-game winning streak. Over this period, they rank third in the league by allowing only 14.3 points per game and are tied for third with 13 sacks. They also hold a top-10 ranking in passer rating allowed.

Gannon shared his thoughts on why he remained confident in his team's ability to pressure quarterbacks. "It takes time," he stated. He acknowledged that players were adjusting to multiple roles but emphasized trust in their process: "I understand there is a tangible clock on all of us."

The coach highlighted the importance of affecting the quarterback more frequently. While not yet among the top pass-rushing teams, Gannon noted that their combination of pass rush and coverage is currently strong due to effective schemes and player execution.

Safety Budda Baker achieved his first sack against the Jets, while second-year player Dante Stills leads with 3.5 sacks despite being a healthy scratch earlier this season. Browning showed promise with pressures in his debut game.

Gannon expressed confidence in both coaches and players, stating, "They've done a good job to all kind of step up their game." The team’s collective improvement aligns with Gannon's original plan.
