Mack Wilson Sr., a linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, is set to face off against veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers for only the second time in his career. Wilson, now 26, was just five years old when Rodgers debuted with the Green Bay Packers in 2005. Reflecting on Rodgers' long and successful career, Wilson remarked, "It's crazy to see, honestly. Everybody's got their own story, so it's amazing to see his story and how things unfolded for him and playing at a high level ever since the first day he started."

This Sunday's game will mark the eighth meeting between the Cardinals and Rodgers. The Cardinals currently hold a slight advantage with a 4-3 record against him. Jonathan Gannon and Nick Rallis, who were involved in strategizing against Rodgers during their time in the NFC North, acknowledge his skill. "He's still a very elite player," noted Gannon.

Rodgers' reputation as one of football's most intelligent players adds an extra layer of challenge for any defense facing him. Rallis emphasized this by saying, "We had an exotic look, unscouted, and his ability to change the protections and get it exactly picked up and deliver a pass... His brain is powerful."

The Cardinals defense is adjusting after previously facing rookie quarterback Caleb Williams last week. They applied pressure effectively then but are aware that Rodgers is known for his quick release and avoiding hits. "He's a savant," Gannon stated about Rodgers.

Wilson stressed that regardless of who they face each week, their objective remains consistent: play fast and physical football. The team has been performing well recently, not allowing touchdowns in their last two home games and achieving three second-half shutouts this season.

Currently leading the NFC West with a 5-4 record, the Cardinals aim to maintain their position through their bye week by defeating the New York Jets (3-6). Wilson commented on their mindset going into games: "We lock in and have that mindset that it's 0-0 on the scoreboard... We've played tremendous ball the last few games after the half."

Last week's 'Thursday Night Football' saw Rodgers lead a comeback victory over the Houston Texans with impressive second-half stats—22-of-32 passes completed for three touchdowns totaling 211 yards after only gaining 32 yards in the first half.

As they prepare to face one of football's greats again this Sunday, Wilson reflected on Rodgers' presence: "I was talking about it to some of the guys that (Rodgers) presence alone has a lot of aura to it... he's one of the guys that's up there."
