The Arizona Cardinals are preparing for the return of a key player to their offensive line. Head Coach Jonathan Gannon announced that the team is opening the practice window for starting right tackle Jonah Williams, who has been on Injured Reserve since sustaining a knee injury in Week 1.

In Williams' absence, Kelvin Beachum has been filling in at right tackle, with Jackson Barton stepping in for one game due to an injury. The Cardinals have until November 20 to activate Williams to the roster, but he could potentially be activated as early as this weekend.

"I loved being out there," Williams expressed. "Everyone was really nice to say hi now that I'm back out there."

Williams recounted his teammates' surprise at seeing him back on the field: "We're not all looped into this stuff. They were like, 'What are you doing out here?' Playing football.'"

Over the next 21 days, the Cardinals will face off against the Bears and Jets before heading into their bye week. The team is already dealing with the loss of right guard Will Hernandez due to a season-ending knee injury, with Trystan Colon and Isaiah Adams serving as replacements.

Williams suffered his injury during a game against Buffalo but managed to participate in 22 offensive snaps thanks to the team's strong start. Reflecting on his time playing before the injury, quarterback Kyler Murray noted, "I just remember being super-protected."

"It's been bittersweet because I'm so excited for the guys and seeing them do well," Williams said about watching from the sidelines. "But then I'm like, 'I just want to be out there.' ... The first week or two was tough, but then I started ramping up. I haven't had any setbacks, fortunately."

Coach Gannon praised Williams' abilities: "He didn't play much but he played well, the snaps that he played."

In other news regarding team changes, the Cardinals signed linebacker Milo Eifler and defensive lineman Anthony Goodlow to fill two open spots on their practice squad. Eifler has previously been associated with teams such as the Jets, Dolphins, Commanders and Falcons while Goodlow is a rookie who was with the Rams.
