Darius Robinson, a first-round defensive lineman, has been activated to the roster from Injured Reserve. This decision was made on Monday, following his absence due to a calf injury sustained before the season began. The team had an available roster spot after placing linebacker Dennis Gardeck on IR last Friday.
Robinson needed to be added to the roster by Wednesday; otherwise, he would have remained on IR for the rest of the season. However, it is still uncertain if Robinson will play in Sunday's game against the Bears. Despite having a three-week practice window, he has not yet practiced due to an initial setback and his mother's passing.
The Cardinals are facing challenges with their lineup as Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols are on IR, Roy Lopez missed the recent game against the Dolphins with an ankle injury, and Naquan Jones sustained a thigh injury in Miami.
Defensive coordinator Nick Rallis commented on Robinson's situation: "I know this isn't how (Darius) wanted to start his rookie season," Rallis said. "I just told him, 'Just focus on one day at a time and not the long-term of what you wanted for goals at this point. I know you're going to be a great player.'"
In other team news, the Cardinals released safety Jason Taylor II and cornerback Keion Crossen from their practice squad on Tuesday.
