Every day, Dadrion Taylor-Demerson reminds himself to "stay ready, so you don't have to get ready." This mindset is shared by his rookie teammates on the Cardinals.

"A lot of guys in this class have been thrown in at any given moment and we're ready, but you never know when it's going to happen and it just comes out of nowhere," Taylor-Demerson said. He believes there is no drop-off from their class and that they add value when they step onto the field.

Out of the 12 rookies drafted by the Cardinals, seven have already seen some playing time. Christian Jones was recently activated to the 53-man roster and might make his debut against the Dolphins.

Taylor-Demerson has played mostly on special teams but saw more action with cornerback Garrett Williams injured against the 49ers. He logged 22 defensive snaps and made several pass breakups that impressed the coaching staff.

With Sean Murphy-Bunting sidelined due to a neck injury, Max Melton has an opportunity to increase his playtime. The second-round pick played a career-high 52 snaps on Monday night. "Max goes out there and does his thing," Taylor-Demerson commented.

Taylor-Demerson also prepares each week as if he were a starter. "I study every week like I'm the starter on the field," he stated.

Cardinals rookies from both 2023 and 2024 have received more playing time than expected. With Dennis Gardeck's ACL tear, linebacker Xavier Thomas may return after being inactive in recent games.

"You've seen a couple of guys this year get some opportunities and maximize some opportunities," coach Jonathan Gannon said. "Roles change with production, that's one of the things that go into your role. I'm excited for our guys."

Guard Isaiah Adams has been waiting for his chance and played over 20 snaps in consecutive games. Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing noted improvement in Adams between Week 6 and Week 7.

"At the end of the day, you just want to be someone that guys can count on no matter what position you are," Adams expressed. "When your name is called, you're expected to be at that level, and there shouldn't be no drop off."

Adams' patience is starting to yield results. For Taylor-Demerson and other rookies, staying prepared remains crucial.

"Seeing them ball just motivates me for whenever I get on the field," Taylor-Demerson said. "The name of the game is being patient, and that's what I am. When the time comes, I'm ready to rock out."
