The Arizona Cardinals have made a strategic addition to their practice squad by signing quarterback Anthony Brown. This move comes after Desmond Ridder departed the team for an opportunity with the Las Vegas Raiders.
General Manager Monti Ossenfort acted swiftly to fill the vacancy, bringing in Brown, who has experience with several NFL teams. An Oregon alumnus, Brown was initially signed as an undrafted rookie by the Baltimore Ravens in 2022. He later spent time during the 2023 preseason with the Raiders and participated in the 2024 preseason with the Buffalo Bills.
Brown's professional record includes appearances in two games for the Ravens, where he completed 22 out of 49 passes, accumulating 302 yards and throwing two interceptions. Meanwhile, Clayton Tune continues to serve as Kyler Murray's backup quarterback for the Cardinals.
In addition to signing Brown, the Cardinals have activated rookie tackle Christian Jones from Injured Reserve to their active roster. This decision came just before Wednesday's deadline for such activations.
As part of their preparations for an upcoming game against Miami, following a Monday night match, the Cardinals opted not to hold a practice session on Wednesday but scheduled an afternoon walkthrough instead.
