Kyler Murray's recent performances on the field have been drawing attention, particularly his ability to make significant rushing plays. During a game where he made a notable 44-yard touchdown run, Murray was caught in conversation with assistant equipment manager Pat Coleman. Coleman remarked, "Surprised you ain't do nothing crazy this time," referencing a previous occasion when Murray celebrated early during a similar play against the San Francisco 49ers.

Murray recalled that moment and admitted, "I was about to," suggesting he nearly repeated his past celebratory gesture. Despite not celebrating prematurely this time, the excitement of the game was palpable as captured by sideline microphones and the cheers of teammates and fans.

Reflecting on his performance this season, Murray expressed enjoyment in having space to showcase his skills. "I've never really had the opportunity to get into the open like that in my career in the NFL," he said. "It's fun. It's fun anytime you get to show off the ability God blessed you with."

Murray has achieved an average of over nine yards per carry across 36 rushing attempts this season. He holds five out of eight records for longest quarterback runs in franchise history, with Charley Trippi holding the longest at 59 yards since 1952. Murray's personal best is a 57-yard run against the Colts on Christmas Day in 2021.

In terms of NFL records since 1966, Murray joins Justin Fields (3 in 2022), Michael Vick (2002), and Steve McNair (1998) as quarterbacks with two touchdown runs of at least 40 yards within a single season.

As for future celebrations, Murray described himself as "a low-key dude," hinting that any further accomplishments might be met with understated reactions.
