Four students from Paradise Valley Community College's Fine and Performing Arts program have been chosen to perform with renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli at his concert in Phoenix on December 5, 2024. The event will take place at Footprint Arena in downtown Phoenix. The selected individuals include Noelle Krugman, Bobby Cave, David Chasca, and Jeanette Winzeler, an adjunct faculty member and director of PVCC’s Community Choir.

The selection followed a competitive audition process, marking a significant achievement for the PVCC musicians who will join other performers supporting Bocelli. Known globally for his powerful voice, Bocelli offers these students a unique opportunity.

Jeanette Winzeler expressed her enthusiasm about the opportunity: “Performing with Andrea Bocelli is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students. It’s a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the strong foundation PVCC provides in fine and performing arts. I’m beyond proud of them and thrilled to share the stage with such an iconic artist.”

Chris Scinto, chair of the Fine and Performing Arts division, also highlighted the significance of this accomplishment: "This is an extraordinary achievement for Noelle, Bobby, David, and Jeanette, and it’s a moment of immense pride for our Fine and Performing Arts program.” He added that being chosen to perform alongside an artist like Bocelli speaks volumes about the students' talent and dedication as well as the quality of training provided by PVCC.

Noelle Krugman shared her excitement upon hearing she was selected: “I was ecstatic when I found out I was chosen to be in the choir,” she said. Having grown up listening to Bocelli's music with her father adds personal significance to this opportunity.

Winzeler further encouraged her choir by saying: “I have told the choir that this is the year of opportunities for our group,” expressing pride in their accomplishments.
