Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is preparing for its annual event, Puma Palooza. This tradition, which began as a wellness event, has evolved into a celebration of community and academic achievement. Scheduled for March 26 at Cordova Plaza, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Puma Palooza aims to connect students, faculty, and staff while showcasing academic disciplines through student clubs. It also provides students with a mid-semester break to relax and recharge.
The event has grown from an employee-sponsored health initiative to include the Maricopa County Community College District’s ‘I Will Graduate’ initiative. This reinforces student success and completion while highlighting the district’s eight Fields of Interest through exhibits and activities hosted by faculty and advisors.
Activities planned for this year include inflatable games, performances by the Center for Performing Arts, and interactive booths hosted by student clubs. Community partners will also be present to offer networking opportunities.
“There’s a lot of hope and excitement about the future percolating at Puma Palooza,” said Mike Ho, director of Student Life. “It’s inspiring to see students come together, connect with their peers and faculty, and feel encouraged in their academic journeys. This event is all about fostering community, supporting student success, and making sure every student knows they belong here at PVCC.”
As students reach mid-semester, Puma Palooza offers them a chance to refuel and remember their educational goals. The event promises another memorable chapter in PVCC's tradition.
