Marvin Harrison Jr. typically addresses the media on Wednesdays, usually after his extra session with the JUGS machine, still in his practice gear and covered in sweat. However, this Wednesday was different; he emerged from the shower instead.
Harrison had a good reason for this change. He needed to wash off the slime after being named the "Nickelodeon Valuable Player" (NVP) for Week 2, following his performance of four catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. To celebrate, Harrison allowed Paris Johnson Jr. to slime him for the cameras.
"I was blessed to be the Nickelodeon player of the week, and that meant a lot to me," Harrison said. "It was really cool ... and I got slimed today. That was fun."
Kyler Murray was notably the first-ever NVP winner after Week 1 in 2021 when he led the Cardinals to victory over the Titans with four touchdown passes. Unlike Harrison, Murray did not get slimed.
Harrison mentioned that he kept both touchdown balls from his Week 2 performance and plans to display them at home.
There is no word on whether any of the slime will be saved as a memento.
