A cornerstone of musical expression in the community since 1988, the Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) Community Choir is currently recruiting singers for the upcoming academic year and an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in May 2025.

“When I began last year, we had just nine dedicated members. Fast forward to this semester, and our choir has grown to around 24 singers—a testament to the passion and commitment of our community,” said Jeanette Winzeler, who serves as the choir director. “We welcome anyone of high school age and up to join us, no audition required!”

The community chorus has brought together voices of all ages over the years, celebrating the joy of singing and the power of music to unite. Beginning September 3, the chorus will meet every Tuesday night from 6:30-8:30 PM in PVCC’s Center for the Performing Arts (CPA). The group performs twice a year at the college and also carols throughout the community spreading holiday cheer.

At its first concert on November 17, the choir will be asking for donations to help fund their upcoming trip to New York City where they have been invited to join 100 additional singers at Carnegie Hall next May.

“This invitation is a tremendous honor and a testament to the talent and dedication of our members. We’re working hard to fundraise for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we hope to make it a reality,” Winzeler said.
