Budda Baker did not achieve the statistics he might have hoped for last season, but he maintained that his performance was commendable despite missing five weeks due to a hamstring injury. His peers seemed to concur.
The NFL Network's annual Top 100 list for the 2023 season began its reveal on Monday night, featuring the Cardinals' Pro Bowl safety at No. 89 overall. This marks Baker's fifth consecutive appearance on the list. While the top 80 players are yet to be disclosed, it is possible that Baker will be the only representative from the Cardinals, although Trey McBride and James Conner also had noteworthy seasons.
Baker's previous rankings on the list are as follows:
- 2022: No. 73
- 2021: No. 67
- 2020: No. 19
- 2019: No. 97
Scheduled to become a free agent after this season, Baker is expected to benefit from recent defensive upgrades made by the Cardinals. Should the team experience a significant improvement as anticipated by many, it is likely that more of Baker’s teammates will feature in next year's list.
