Seventh-graders from Desert Shadows Middle School participated in a school-wide rocket launch last week as part of their 7th-grade physics unit. The students engaged in research, development, testing, and refinement of their rockets leading up to the May 3 launch day. Each group aimed for a target launch distance of approximately 394 feet.

The project involved several weeks of preparation, during which students worked both in teams and independently. This hands-on experience allowed them to apply creative and critical thinking skills while learning about finite calculations and data collection, evaluation, and synthesis.

PVSchools expressed pride in participating in this unique event.

"Keep up the great work, Sidewinders!"
