Event Description:
Join the Valley Young Professionals on June 22nd for a donation drive and volunteer opportunity with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central & Northern Arizona (RMHC)
The families who benefit from RMHC travel far from home to receive treatment for their child at world-renowned pediatric centers located in metropolitan Phoenix. Their child’s treatment may last a day, a month, or sometimes even longer. It’s a long time to be away from home and oftentimes commuting or staying at a hotel is either impossible or financially challenging for a family. RMHC helps families overcome these obstacles by providing all the comforts of home and temporary housing near their child’s hospital or medical center at no cost to families.
Lend a hand by packing welcome bags for families of children with medical challenges staying at their “home-away-from-home.” As a volunteer, you are asked to bring donation items for the welcome bags including:
- Stuffed animals
- Activity books (all ages thru adults)
- Coloring/writing utensils
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, lotion, etc.)
- Gift Cards
- Reading Books
- Comfort Items (cozy socks, chapstick, blankets, etc.)
