Senate hearings on the Supreme Court nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson are ongoing. U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) and other leaders are commenting on the process.

These comments occur as Jackson faces a tough confirmation, frequently being interrupted by Republican lawmakers, according to CNN.

"The Senate hearings on the nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court are underway," Gallego said on Twitter on March 21. "Judge Jackson is enormously qualified and will make an incredible & historic addition to the Supreme Court. Looking forward to calling her Justice Jackson!"

Vice President Kamala Harris also commented.

"Anyone watching Judge Jackson’s hearing can see why POTUS nominated her," Harris said on Twitter on March 23. "She is phenomenal and has shown exceptional temperament throughout the entire hearing. When confirmed, she will be an outstanding Justice on the Supreme Court."

Sen. Marshall Bullock (D-Mich.) was another leader who commented on Jackson.

"Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is qualified, experienced, and ready to serve on our nation's highest court," Bullock said on Twitter on March 22. "It's time for the U.S. Senate to Confirm Judge Brown Jackson for SCOTUS Justice!"

Jackson herself also had a lot of comments during the hearings. She became emotional when asked about what she would say to young people, during the third day of the hearings.

"I appreciate the opportunity to speak to young people," Jackson said, according to CNN. "I appreciate it very much. I do it a lot. I hope to inspire people to try to follow this path because I love this country, because I love the law, because I think it is important that we all invest in our future. And the young people are the future. And so, I want them to know that they can do and be anything."
