Arizona Congresswoman Debbie Lesko went on Twitter to express her displeasure and opposition to the Equality Act, a bill that seeks to protect the LGBTQ community from discrimination.

On Twitter, Lesko wrote, “The Democrats’ so-called “Equality Act” has dangerous implications for women across our country. Outrageous Dems are pushing this radical legislation!”

Lesko and other Republicans are criticizing the act because they claim it will trample the rights of conservative individuals. Many Republicans do not want gender identity to be a subjective concept; rather they want it based on scientific fact: male humans are men and female humans are women.

Lesko’s argument concerns women and she warned them in her statement that enacting the Equality Act could lead to dangerous implications that would directly affect them.

An opinion piece on the Washington Examiner site echoed Lesko’s argument wherein it said that enacting the bill would disrupt various foundations in society that could be detrimental to everyone. The writer said even something as simple as parenting could be greatly affected by the Equality Act because traditional settings now be challenged and replaced.
