U.S. House. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ-08) asked Democrats in multiple tweets how their relief bill will help the country.
Lesko said that the “Democrat’s COVID-19 relief bill is not helping the American people. Instead, the Democrats' bill bails out poorly-run Democrat states, does not get kids back into schools, and does not create jobs and help people get back to work safely.”
She also claimed that the “Democrats’ partisan so-called ‘COVID relief bill’ will cost the American people almost $2 trillion, but they haven’t even spent all of the funds from the previous relief bills.”
Lesko is requiring answers on how the money will be specifically spent on the nation’s critical matters.
“The Democrats have yet to explain how their partisan relief bill will create jobs, deliver more vaccine doses, safely reopen schools.” Lesko wrote on Twitter. “The American people deserve answers from the Democrats on these critical relief measures.”
She has previously offered an amendment in the House Committee on Energy and Commerce markup on Democrats’ COVID-19 relief package. The amendment was intended to support youth suicide prevention and would have helped “especially school-age children who have become collateral damage due to school closures across the country.”
