The Phoenix Mercury have confirmed the re-signing of Brittney Griner, a WNBA Champion and nine-time All-Star. This announcement comes as Griner enters her 11th season with the team. "BG has been a stalwart of the Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix community for the past decade, and we are excited that she will be with us as we build a team that can compete every night on both ends of the floor," said Mercury General Manager Nick U’Ren. He emphasized Griner's focus on winning and her leadership qualities.

WNBA announces all-star game featuring USA team vs. Team WNBA
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) has announced that the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will feature a matchup between the USA Basketball Women’s National Team and the remaining WNBA All-Stars. This event, marking the league's 20th All-Star Game, is scheduled for Saturday, July 20 at Footprint Center in Phoenix. The game will be broadcast on ABC.

Phoenix Mercury signs Sug Sutton for training camp contract
The Phoenix Mercury has signed guard Sug Sutton to a training camp contract, the team announced. Sutton participated in all 40 games last season, starting in 12 of them for the Mercury. She averaged 8.2 points, a team-leading 4.8 assists—ranking ninth in the WNBA—and 2.6 rebounds per game.

Phoenix Mercury acquires Kahleah Copper from Chicago Sky
The Phoenix Mercury have announced a significant trade with the Chicago Sky, acquiring All-Star and WNBA Champion Kahleah Copper along with forward Morgan Bertsch. In exchange, the Mercury will send forwards Brianna Turner and Michaela Onyenwere to the Sky, as well as their first-round picks in 2024 and 2026. The deal also includes Chicago receiving its 2025 second-round pick back from Phoenix and rights to a 2026 second-round pick swap.
