As the 2025 NFL Draft draws near, the Arizona Cardinals are scrutinizing their options after completing an 8-9 season. Holding the 16th pick this year, a shift from last season where they picked fourth, the team is exploring various prospects, some of whom have garnered attention from NFL analysts.

Inside linebacker Jihaad Campbell from Alabama is a leading prospect, regarded as the top off-ball linebacker in the draft. Though he recently underwent shoulder surgery, Campbell is praised for his versatility, which aligns with the defensive preferences of Cardinals General Manager Monti Ossenfort. CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards notes, "Jihaad Campbell has an easy path to the starting lineup in Arizona." Another advocate, Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA Today, conveys optimism about Campbell's potential impact: "Monti Ossenfort and Jonathan Gannon still have plenty of reason to be drawn to Campbell, an ascendant talent who would electrify the pass rush early while honing his instincts as an off-ball linebacker."

Defensive tackle Walter Nolen from Ole Miss is another possibility, acclaimed for his dominant performance in the SEC. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com describes him as fitting the "Cardinals' defensive culture as a worker bee at the point of attack." Meanwhile, Tom Fornelli from CBS Sports rates him highly, stating, "Walter Nolen...he's my DT2 in the class behind Graham, and he's my No. 9 overall player."

Cornerback Jahdae Barron from Texas also catches analysts' attention. Barron, renowned for his defensive prowess, recorded five interceptions and 67 tackles in 2024. Marcus Mosher from The 33rd Team asserts, "He is a do-it-all defensive player who can help in the slot or at safety." Diante Lee of The Ringer adds, "Jahdae Barron is one of my favorite players to watch in this class because of his aggression."

Kenneth Grant, a defensive tackle from Michigan, offers another option for the Cardinals. Grant’s combination of power and quick quickness makes him attractive both as a nose tackle and a three-technique. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports acknowledges, "The Cardinals added to their defense in free agency by getting guys like Josh Sweat, but now they can get a power inside player in Grant."

Donovan Jackson, an offensive guard from Ohio State, is another candidate. With experience shifting positions due to injuries, his physical attributes make a compelling case for solidifying the offensive line. Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports comments, "More blocking stability in front of Kyler Murray and for James Conner and Trey Benson is needed in the desert. Jackson is an athletic guard with super-clean tape."

As the draft approaches, the Cardinals weigh their choices to address both immediate needs and long-term potential.
