Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) has announced that 20 of its students have been selected for the Artists of Promise Visual Arts Competition. This marks the highest number of accepted works from PVCC students since the competition's inception.
David Bradley, a member of the Fine Arts faculty at PVCC, expressed pride in this achievement. "This milestone highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of PVCC’s student artists and is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the amazing works created by our students," he said. He emphasized the importance of art as a cultural language and praised students for their hard work in perfecting artistic techniques.
The Artists of Promise Visual Arts Exhibition will begin with a reception on February 26 from 6-7 p.m. at Mesa Community College Art Gallery, followed by a gala event from 7-9 p.m. The gala will celebrate achievements not only in visual arts but also in music, theatre, dance, and creative writing. The exhibition will run until March 6 and feature 80 selected works from a competitive pool of 226 submissions by 75 student artists.
For over two decades, the Artists of Promise competition has been integral to Maricopa Community College District’s efforts to promote creative expression. It offers emerging student artists an opportunity to gain recognition and connect with a broader artistic community.
PVCC's strong representation this year reflects the dedication and creativity fostered within its community. The college encourages public attendance to support these talented individuals as they present their work.
Further details about the exhibition and gala can be found on Maricopa Community College's website.
