Grand Canyon University concluded its regular indoor track and field season by participating in the Northern Arizona Tune-up at the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff. With just a week remaining before the WAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Spokane, Washington, around 30 athletes from GCU attended the event.

The small group of participants achieved notable results, with five performances ranking among the top 10 in the WAC for this indoor season. Senior sprinter JoJo Harding matched his personal best by winning the 60-meter run final with a time of 6.68 seconds, securing the No. 4 spot in the WAC rankings. Freshman sprinter Luca Cannizzo recorded a personal best of 48.37 seconds in the 400 meters, placing him within the conference's top 10 for that event.

Senior middle-distance runner Michael Cunningham also made it into the top 10 with a time of 1:53.76 in the 800 meters. Senior thrower McKenna Hayes improved her shot put mark to 12.82 meters, ranking sixth in the conference. Graduate thrower Andrew Wells enhanced his weight throw performance to 16.01 meters, earning him a place among the WAC's top performers.

Despite focusing on defending their title at next week's WAC Championships, GCU's women's team was ranked second behind Utah Valley and ahead of Tarleton State according to pre-championship polls by conference head coaches.

Meanwhile, GCU's men's team is favored to win their championship event, with Utah Valley and UT Arlington closely trailing them.

The two-day championship meet is scheduled to begin on Friday, February 28th and will conclude on Saturday, March 1st.
